Founded in 1957, Rolling Hills Estates is made up of 30 unique neighborhoods, all with their architecture, character, and own homeowners association. The city is known for being a great equestrian community with its open spaces, white fences, rolling hills, and many horse-riding trails. Even as it holds to its original values, the town has evolved and changed according to the needs of the residents over time.
As of the 2010 census, the population is 8,067. Found to the north of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Rolling Hills Estates is a gated, luxury community. The area features a country club, a private golf course, hiking trails, a shopping district, monthly bird walks, and more. From its unique architecture to its equestrian culture, it is no wonder the area is so desirable.

Things to Do in Rolling Hills Estates
Rolling Hills Country Club boasts personalized and welcoming service and a premier experience for all members and guests. With a world-class golf course and other luxury amenities, such as swimming, tennis, fitness, and dining services, the club provides its members with enjoyment and enrichment.
Dapplegray Park provides guests with several bridle trails connected to the riding rings for horse riding. This equestrian facility covers 1.5 acres and features a lunging ring, dressage area, and riding ring.
A 51-acre preserve in the midst of one of Palos Verdes Peninsula’s most beautiful canyons, the George F Canyon Nature Center & Stein/Hale Nature Trail allows guests to ride on horseback or walk through the habitat. The trail covers one mile and provides viewing decks and benches. The community can learn more about the canyon and its wildlife at one of many recreational and educational programs.
Palos Verdes Peninsula Holiday Parade of Lights is an annual parade in December. Visitors can see Santa, holiday floats, and marching bands passing through the brightly lit city.
Chandler Park covers 3.5 acres near City Hall, and features more than two acres of grassy fields, an equestrian ring, and tall pepper trees. The Tracy Austin Doubles Tennis Tournament is coming into its 44th year. The event attracts people from all over the South Bay and is open to all ages and skills.
