One of the coastal cities found near Los Angeles, Rancho Palos Verdes sits on the top of the bluffs on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Its name means Green Sticks Ranch or Green Pole Farm in Spanish, referring to a local tree. Founded in 1973, the city has a population of 41,643 as of the 2010 census. The affluent area is best known for its stunning views of the ocean and Santa Catalina Island, as well as the hills, cliffs, and bluffs.
The youngest city on the peninsula, Rancho Palos Verdes, boasts expansive, luxurious properties, a charming stone and glass church called Wayfarer’s Chapel, and several golf courses.
